Creating your Store - Adding Categories and Products
Please log in
to your Store Administration
to follow along with this tutorial.
STEP 1: After you log in.
Lets Add your first category - Click View
Categories
(at the top)
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and Enter your category name
(required).
Click Add Category to save your new main category.
For example; if you sell shoes you may want your first category to
be Men's Shoes.
(NOTE) It is a good idea to have your
site opened to your homepage in another window.
Click the Your Site link
in your store administration (up
top). After you make changes on
your admin side you can refresh your web site to see the changes.
To add a subcategories to your main categories the following:
Click on a Category Name link you have already
created.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and Enter your
sub-category name (required).
Click Add Category to save your new sub-category.
For example; if you sell shoes, you may want your
sub-category underneath Men's Shoes to be Men's Dress Shoes.
You can now create multiple sub-categories and for example add the
sub-categories Men's Tennis Shoes, Men's Hiking Boots, etc.
STEP 2: Adding your first product
Lets Add your first product - Click
View Items (up top)
Choose the category you would like to add a new product into
and click the ADD button in the Add Item column.
Fill out your product name, price, shipping price or weight,
and description and any other information you would like to
include.
Do not click the Save Changes button just yet, in our next step we will explain how to
upload your item image.
STEP 3: Uploading your product images.
Lets Upload your product photos
You will see an area on the bottom of the form to upload your
photos -
Click the Upload button, a new window will pop up with
instructions on how to upload your product image.
If this window does not appear, please check that you are not
using pop-up blocking software, if so, enable your website.
Follow the instructions in the Upload window to upload your
product image.
After
your image uploads successfully, close the Upload window.
Finally, click
Save Changes at the
bottom of the Add Item page and your item will appear immediately
on your web site.
You will now see the item / category on your web site home page.
